Tetrahedrite is a mineral from the sulfide group with a hardness of 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale. It is a very dark-colored antimony sulfide of iron and copper. It is an important mineral in the copper mining industry and is also often used to extract silver, mercury, and antimony. Certain varieties, such as tellurium and tin ores, are also extracted.
